About Me

They say necessity is the mother of invention. Oh, so true. When I was in high school I had a pair of earrings quite similar to my Pearl Branch earrings. I wore them literally every day for two years. Then came fall of 2007. I remember it was a cloudy day. It was just me and my earrings...and a football game (sometimes I've learned you can have bad earring luck on game days). All of the sudden, a strange girl came up to me and said "Uh oh! You're missing an earring!" And just like that, I realized I'd lost one of my beloved earrings. Tragedy.

Last Christmas I was sifting through a box of broken and castoff jewelry (I'm a hoarder) and saw the one sad little earring. I was deep in a very fervent DIY phase and I thought "Hey, I could make these." Boom. The rest is history.

When I'm not focusing on jewelry, I moonlight (or daylight, I suppose) as the Events Coordinator of the SC Governor's Mansion. I plan all of the events that go on at the Mansion and coordinate all of the rentals of the Lace House, a beautiful antebellum home at the Mansion Complex.

As you may have guessed from the location of my workplace, I live in Columbia, SC. If you're in town, come visit me! I love giving tours of the Mansion.
